The arrival of the baby s first tooth is a much awaited occurrence for many parents. In fact, numerous parents become quite relieved when the tooth will finally come out after all the restless nights they had. Though, shocking as it could appear, there are actually children born with teeth, literally! Most parents get startled when they notice one or two teeth on the newborn babies.
Typically, medical doctors from developing countries can just simply take out the teeth as soon as they can. Obviously, these event will scare lots of parents especially if they are told the risks which could come about on the baby who are born with teeth. The term for this type of teeth is natal teeth. Most people think that when a baby has these teeth they are either mentally retarded or they are born too old. However, not one of these beliefs are actually accurate with the regards to the real and concrete information on the subject of natal teeth.
The natal teeth are rarities plus they only happen one in every 2000 or so infants, however, if they are not removed they can cause some soreness to the baby seeing that they are not firmly set in the gums, in truth they are quite loose, there are several cases where the tooth gets swallowed by the infant and bring about some complications once they unexpectedly get extracted when feeding on the nipple. This can even cause pain to the mother s nipple when the baby is feeding. Third, some infants can literally injure the tips of their own tongues, some even get amputated. It is highly recommended to check with a pediatric dentist on what would be the neatest thing to do concerning the teeth before it can cause harm to you and your baby. Note that the natal teeth is not safe and you need to get rid of it as soon as possible. Some of those teeth is not going to even need anaesthesia because they’re loose.
